So, I had hit a bit of a block on Gadget Girl. It came time for the emotional climax in the rough draft and, well. It wasn't working. First, the angry fight turned into an angry fistfight. Then they needed to have a Serious Talk*.

The problem is, I can't write Serious Talks. I don't have them, I don't read about them, I don't think I've ever eavesdropped on one. And, you know. Carrie and Ray? Not so much the type of people to ever have serious talks. Well, let me take that back. Ray would happily force the issue and sit down and have a Serious Talk.

Carrie, would get all angry and flustered and pissed off and end up punching the fuck out of Ray.

The solution? (Which soleta was kind enough to point out to me) Have them do it by email. That will provide both srs bzns and lulz, as Carrie sends the first email and then Ray calls her all "We can't have this conversation by email" and she hangs up on him and forces him to and stuff.
